About The Position
The Meteorologist Reporter (WEEKEND) will report, shoot, write and edit weather/news reports across multiple platforms. This role involves producing and presenting weather/news reports for all platforms, ensuring that all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality. The reporter will write and deliver weather/news stories in a clear and concise manner, assist in writing, copy editing, researching, and coordinating weather programming and other content. The position requires responding to breaking and/or severe weather events and other urgent newsroom situations as required. The Meteorologist Reporter will work closely with the weather team to develop comprehensive weather coverage and participate in promotional activities including public appearances. Additionally, the role includes writing web stories detailing the local forecast on a daily basis, interacting with viewers and users on social media sites, and reporting three days a week as part of the MMVJ responsibilities. The candidate must have the ability to shoot pictures and edit stories from beginning to end, and will be responsible for posting on the web and social media.
