About the position

This position conducts various cleaning tasks throughout production areas to aid in proper equipment performance.

Responsibilities

  • Use various hand tools such as brooms, rakes, and powered tools such as vacuums and air wands to perform cleaning tasks.
  • Knowledgeable in forklift and bobcat operation.
  • Adjust to various working conditions and spaces.
  • Be self-motivated and task oriented.
  • Efficiently complete task list as provided by the maintenance supervisor.
  • Follow standard work.
  • Communicate with maintenance crew leader and millwrights.
  • Maintain basic tool supply, coveralls, and other PPE or company provided items.
  • Determine proper safety procedures (LOTO, JSA, REACH) needed to safely and efficiently complete tasks.
  • Further duties may be assigned or amended by the maintenance crew leader, supervisor, or plant manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required; additional technical and boiler schooling is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and use basic and advanced arithmetic.
  • On the job training is provided; approximately 3 to 6 months to become proficient.
  • Knowledgeable of various hand and electric tools to complete cleaning procedures.
  • Experience and ability to operate mobile equipment.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow standard operating/work order instructions.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to communicate with others at all levels in both oral and written methods.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
