The Lab Technician provides essential support in our facility by conducting tests, analyzing samples, and maintaining laboratory equipment. This position sits with our Swedish Match affiliate.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School diploma with courses in scientific disciplines such as Chemistry, Biology, related disciplines or equivalent.
  • One year Laboratory Technician experience preferred or comparable position/experience.
  • Knowledgeable in Analytical Chemistry and basic laboratory procedures. Must effectively organize and utilize time. Ability to review, interpret and report analytical results.
  • Must be able to work Thursday & Friday 4:00pm-12:30am, Saturday & Sunday 12:00pm-12:30am
  • Be legally authorized to work in the US
  • International relocation support is not available for this job

Responsibilities

  • Perform necessary calculations on analytical results.
  • Responsible for sample preparation, preparation of solutions and extractions.
  • Responsible for routine moisture, pH, and water activity of tobacco samples, tobacco derived nicotine samples and finished products.
  • Responsible for clean glassware and related supplies, disposal of hazardous waste, and cleanliness of laboratory.
  • Provide support to other employees in the Analytical Lab.
  • Responsible for accurate record keeping and data entry.
  • Provide support to Production, R&D, Quality Assurance and Leaf Operations.
