About The Position

The Weekend Dispatch position at Melton Truck Lines is responsible for providing detailed instructions to drivers regarding southbound loads and processing these loads for dispatch into Mexico. This role requires close collaboration with other operations team members to ensure superior service and profitability. The position operates on a weekend schedule from Friday to Monday, focusing on effective communication and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• Fluency in Spanish and English, both spoken and written.
• Two or more years of customer service experience.
• Ability to make quick and effective decisions.
• Transportation experience preferred.
• Familiarity with computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel, and Innovative AS400 System.

Responsibilities

• Review Bill of Lading and provide detailed instructions to Melton drivers on southbound loads.
• Open lines of communication with customers, forwarders, Mexican carriers, and Melton stakeholders.
• Process transfer solicitations and schedule delivery appointments for inbound loads.
• Follow up with Mexican carriers to ensure load status is communicated to customers.
• Confirm carrier availability based on customer requests and operational needs.
• Update the Mexican Trailer session daily according to operational processes.
• Create and update reports based on customer or operational needs.
• Monitor and update daily reports of freight crossing into Mexico for record-keeping and follow-up.
• Maintain daily communication with Mexican carriers via email, WhatsApp, or telephone.
