About The Position

The position involves providing direct care to residents in a facility, focusing on their activities of daily living, planning of care, and assisting with therapeutic activities programs. Documentation as required by the facility is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read regulations and patient records and write clearly.
  • Must be able to communicate in a courteous, friendly manner.
  • Must possess and maintain a current valid driver's license and have a clean driving record.
  • Must provide proof of auto insurance as required by the State of Tennessee.
  • Must have 3-5 years of experience as a Caregiver, C.N.A, or PCA.
  • Must pass a drug screen and background check.
  • Must have a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must have a great personality, patience, understanding, and initiative when working with the elderly.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Nice To Haves

  • High School graduate or GED preferred.
  • Experience working with seniors.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents in and out of bed and chair or wheelchair using the correct mechanical lift.
  • Assist residents in bathing, including transfers to and from the tub or shower.
  • Assist residents in dressing or undressing, folding or hanging clean items, and placing soiled items in the hamper.
  • Assist residents in using the bathroom and provide peri care, including handling bedpans, urinals, and bedside commodes.
  • Assist residents to the dining area for meals or provide meals in their home as preferred.
  • Remove soiled bedding and replace with clean linen as necessary.
  • Assist with personal grooming of residents, such as brushing hair, teeth, and trimming fingernails and toenails.
  • Monitor hygiene continuously and assist as needed to ensure residents are clean.
  • Turn and reposition residents intermittently if they are unable to position themselves.
  • Maintain maximum quality of life for all residents by respecting privacy, accommodating individual preferences, promoting independence, and encouraging participation in facility activities.
  • Maintain continuous communication with the team leader and report any changes or unusual observations regarding residents' physical and psychosocial functioning.
  • Project positive, cooperative, self-motivated, and courteous behaviors to all residents, family members, visitors, and team members.
