About The Position

HelloFresh is seeking a weekend procurement buyer to work directly with the operations manager to ensure food buying across the organization is tracked and managed efficiently. This position is Full-Time covering a Friday - Monday schedule (4 x 10 hour days). The procurement team collaborates closely with all distribution centers to guarantee timely and accurate shipment of every box. There is a large group on the procurement team dedicated to making this goal achievable. Procurement is divided into various commodity categories, with this role being a part of the produce team. Other commodity groups encompass grocery, dairy, market, protein, and packaging. In support of this effort, procurement provides assistance to distribution centers seven days a week. While most orders are delivered on weekdays, due to the perishable nature of food, we require assistance in procuring ingredients during weekends as well. This is where you come in! Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree is required
• 3-5 years of procurement and/or sourcing experience
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically MS Excel
• Possess a genuine passion for food and produce, using this enthusiasm to drive quality work and engagement
• Approach work with a data-driven approach, actively seeking insights and trends from data to inform decision-making and continuous improvements
• Demonstrate strong prioritization skills, effectively managing a myriad of concurrent tasks to focus on the highest impact tasks
• Champion a customer centric approach, proactively identifying needs and offering resourceful, creative solutions
• Ability to work autonomously and with initiative, navigating daily tasks independently and knowing when to escalate issues for timely resolution
• Maintain a proactive, detail-oriented mindset consistently anticipating and addressing potential issues before they escalate.

Responsibilities

• Lead weekend purchasing and inventory management across a variety of food commodities, with majority emphasis on produce. You’ll coordinate all logistics, manage cost targets, and supplier/warehouse relationships.
• Serve as a crucial link for weekend transitions, proactively supporting the in-week team on Fridays and Mondays to manage all necessary handoffs.
• Handle core operation processes by issuing purchase orders, meticulously tracking inbound and outbound freight, resolving production issues as they arise and managing payment of invoices on a timely basis.
• Manage the continuous flow of inventory by partnering with distribution centers and suppliers to ensure delivery schedules and inventory levels match production requirements.
• Resolve supplier issues promptly and professionally, quickly intervening to resolve operational, purchasing or performance problems to minimize production disruptions.
• Proactively execute high-impact, long-term process improvement projects while balancing daily operational demands.
• Support your teammates to ensure that no boxes are missed and no ingredients are subbed due to procurement issues.
