Weekend Anchor/Multimedia Journalist
About The Position
The ideal candidate will be a newsroom leader who consistently leads by example. The Weekend Anchor/MMJ must have a strong on-air presence and embrace going live. You must have a winning attitude and want to compete for the "big story" every day. Candidates must have proven experience developing contacts and breaking news stories. Shooting and editing experience is a required. We are looking for someone who sets the tone with credible journalism, can develop a connection with our viewers and create memorable moments in our newscasts. The Weekend Anchor/MMJ will work closely with our news management team to create compelling newscasts.
Requirements
- A. or B.S. Degree preferably in journalism or English or equivalent experience
- At least 2 years of experience in television news reporting
- Experience producing newscasts a plus
- Good attitude and team player
- Strong on-air presentation
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Required to cover news stories from the field
- Good driving record

Responsibilities
- Being a newsroom leader
- Attend the daily editorial meeting and pitch stories
- Establish and maintain news contacts in the community
- Shoot, write and edit news stories on tight schedules
- Anchor newscasts, cut ins and breaking news coverage
- Enterprise special reports
- Be a regular contributor on various social media platforms and engage with the public
- Stay informed about content via competitive websites and follow social media on a regular basis
