About The Position
This role is for an independent alteration professional specializing in bridal and wedding wear. The primary responsibilities include altering various types of wedding attire such as wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses, with a focus on structured bridal gowns that involve multiple layers, lace, beading, linings, boning, and tulle. The professional will also conduct fittings, take precise measurements, communicate timelines effectively, and ensure high-quality finishing while maintaining an organized workspace suitable for client fittings. Additionally, there are opportunities to work on other formalwear like prom dresses, evening gowns, cocktail dresses, and suits.
Requirements
- Proven experience with bridal and/or women's formalwear alterations
- Strong garment construction knowledge + precision measuring
- Machine + hand sewing proficiency
- Professional communication and customer service
Responsibilities
- Alter wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses (hemming, bustle, bodice/waist, straps, cups, zippers)
- Work with structured bridal gowns (multiple layers, lace, beading, linings, boning/tulle)
- Conduct fittings, take precise measurements, and communicate timelines clearly
- Deliver high-quality finishing and maintain an organized workspace suitable for fittings
