About The Position
This position invites independent alteration professionals to join a network specializing in bridal and wedding wear. The role involves altering various formalwear, including wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses, with specific tasks like hemming, bustling, and adjusting bodices, waists, straps, cups, and zippers. The professional will work with complex bridal gowns featuring multiple layers, lace, beading, linings, boning, and tulle. Key responsibilities include conducting fittings, taking precise measurements, clearly communicating timelines, delivering high-quality finishing, and maintaining an organized workspace suitable for fittings. The network also receives requests for other formalwear such as prom dresses, evening gowns, cocktail dresses, suits, and other formalwear.
Requirements
- Proven experience with bridal and/or women's formalwear alterations
- Strong garment construction knowledge + precision measuring
- Machine + hand sewing proficiency
- Professional communication and customer service
Responsibilities
- Alter wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses (hemming, bustle, bodice/waist, straps, cups, zippers)
- Work with structured bridal gowns (multiple layers, lace, beading, linings, boning/tulle)
- Conduct fittings, take precise measurements, and communicate timelines clearly
- Deliver high-quality finishing and maintain an organized workspace suitable for fittings
