About The Position
This position is for an independent alteration professional specializing in bridal and wedding wear. The role involves altering various types of formalwear, including wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses, prom dresses, evening gowns, cocktail dresses, and suits. Key tasks include hemming, bustling, adjusting bodices/waists, straps, cups, and zippers, especially for structured bridal gowns with multiple layers, lace, beading, linings, boning, and tulle. The professional will also be responsible for conducting fittings, taking precise measurements, communicating timelines, delivering high-quality finishing, and maintaining an organized workspace suitable for fittings.
Requirements
- Proven experience with bridal and/or women's formalwear alterations
- Strong garment construction knowledge + precision measuring
- Machine + hand sewing proficiency
- Professional communication and customer service
Responsibilities
- Alter wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses (hemming, bustle, bodice/waist, straps, cups, zippers)
