About The Position
Join our network of independent alteration professionals specializing in bridal and wedding wear. This role involves altering various formalwear including wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses, focusing on tasks like hemming, bustles, bodice/waist adjustments, straps, cups, and zippers. You will work with structured bridal gowns that may have multiple layers, lace, beading, linings, boning, and tulle. Key responsibilities include conducting fittings, taking precise measurements, clearly communicating timelines, delivering high-quality finishing, and maintaining an organized workspace suitable for fittings. The network also receives requests for other formalwear such as prom dresses, evening gowns, cocktail dresses, suits, and other formal attire.
Requirements
- Proven experience with bridal and/or women's formalwear alterations
- Strong garment construction knowledge + precision measuring
- Machine + hand sewing proficiency
- Professional communication and customer service
Responsibilities
- Alter wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses (hemming, bustle, bodice/waist, straps, cups, zippers)
- Work with structured bridal gowns (multiple layers, lace, beading, linings, boning/tulle)
