About The Position
This position is for an independent alteration professional specializing in bridal and wedding wear, joining a network that also handles requests for prom dresses, evening gowns, cocktail dresses, suits, and other formalwear. The role involves altering various types of formal attire, including wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses, covering tasks such as hemming, bustles, bodice/waist adjustments, straps, cups, and zippers. The professional will work with structured bridal gowns, which often feature multiple layers, lace, beading, linings, boning, and tulle. Key responsibilities include conducting fittings, taking precise measurements, clearly communicating timelines to clients, delivering high-quality finishing, and maintaining an organized workspace suitable for client fittings.
Requirements
- Proven experience with bridal and/or women's formalwear alterations
- Strong garment construction knowledge + precision measuring
- Machine + hand sewing proficiency
- Professional communication and customer service
Responsibilities
- Alter wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses (hemming, bustle, bodice/waist, straps, cups, zippers)
