About The Position
Join our network of independent alteration professionals specializing in bridal and wedding wear. This role involves altering various formalwear including wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses, specifically focusing on tasks like hemming, bustling, bodice/waist adjustments, straps, cups, and zippers. The professional will work with structured bridal gowns that feature multiple layers, lace, beading, linings, boning, and tulle. Key aspects include conducting fittings, taking precise measurements, communicating timelines clearly, and delivering high-quality finishing while maintaining an organized workspace suitable for fittings. Additionally, there are opportunities to work on prom dresses, evening gowns, cocktail dresses, suits, and other formalwear.
Requirements
- Proven experience with bridal and/or women's formalwear alterations
- Strong garment construction knowledge + precision measuring
- Machine + hand sewing proficiency
- Professional communication and customer service
Responsibilities
- Alter wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses (hemming, bustle, bodice/waist, straps, cups, zippers)
