About The Position
Join our network of independent alteration professionals specializing in bridal and wedding wear. This role involves altering various types of formalwear, including wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses, with a particular focus on structured bridal gowns that may feature multiple layers, lace, beading, linings, boning, and tulle. The professional will be responsible for conducting fittings, taking precise measurements, clearly communicating timelines to clients, and ensuring high-quality finishing. Maintaining an organized workspace suitable for fittings is also a key aspect of the role. Additionally, the network receives requests for alterations on other formalwear such as prom dresses, evening gowns, cocktail dresses, and suits.
Requirements
- Proven experience with bridal and/or women's formalwear alterations
- Strong garment construction knowledge + precision measuring
- Machine + hand sewing proficiency
- Professional communication and customer service
Responsibilities
- Alter wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses (hemming, bustle, bodice/waist, straps, cups, zippers)
- Work with structured bridal gowns (multiple layers, lace, beading, linings, boning/tulle)
- Conduct fittings, take precise measurements, and communicate timelines clearly
- Deliver high-quality finishing and maintain an organized workspace suitable for fittings
