About The Position

The Webmaster is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the college websites and coordinates with college departments to provide support for content editors and to develop new web initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and at least two (2) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts and ideas to individuals.
• Ability to manage time, communicate clearly and concisely, document and maintain organization of work.
• Ability to maintain a customer focus in providing technology services to the College's community.
• Knowledge of College's operations, needs and goals.
• Demonstrated expertise in Website design and development, project management, web development tools.
• Ability to write well and proofread the writing of others.
• Must be knowledgeable about bandwidth saving techniques to minimize network traffic and create efficient downloading to client computers.
• Must be proficient in HTML, jQuery, JavaScript, C# and ASP.NET.
• Must have experience using an industry standard Content Management System. Cascades CMS experience a plus.
• A team player with the ability to work effectively with others, especially in crisis and other high-pressure situations.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new situations.
• Proven technical aptitude; able and willing to explore and learn new technologies and apply them to the advantage of the College.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the college websites.
• Develops, designs, plans, redesigns, and maintains college's websites, with languages, such as HTML, jQuery, JavaScript, C# and ASP.NET.
• Utilizes a content management system to create and maintain a website that presents the required information in an easy-to-use and agreeable format.
• Creates CMS templates for college departments to maintain a consistent branding, usability, look and feel.
• Collects and evaluates website performance using analytical tools.
• Provides the portal through which all content (excluding pages which access the student database) is received for the site from other staff members.
• Manages files and directories; grants, denies, or limits access by internal users to the website or selected areas of the web.
• Responds to [email protected] email.
• Maintains the college web servers, including software and hardware updates.
• Manages the student portal (MyKCC), including updates, permissions and usage training.
• Provides customer support on usage and development of the college's websites.
• Directs the work of student workers.
• Keeps current and utilizes appropriately, all the publications prepared by the Klamath Community College and of the college's mission to the public when planning and suggesting additions to the website.
• Serves as liaison with staff when adding content.
• Stays current on technologies and best practices in web development.
• Helps provide content management within the structure of the College's organizational chart.
• Monitors the classroom multimedia intercom to assist the faculty during class.
• Assists the College's System and Network Administrator with installing and maintaining desktop hardware and software.
• Assists the Marketing department in utilizing the College's digital signage.
• Assists the College's Database Administrator in documenting and training users on the College's administrative and student database.
• Assists with the College's ongoing assessment and accreditation.
• Sit on various college committees as may be assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.
