About The Position

Urban Outfitters is hiring a Web Production Manager who will lead a multi-level team in managing the digital operations and user experience for all urbanoutfitters.com North America domains. Reporting to the Director of Ecommerce Operations, this role balances high-level strategic partnership with hands-on support to ensure the seamless execution of brand and marketing initiatives. As a technical leader and team advocate, you will drive operational efficiency by setting publishing benchmarks, measuring productivity, and solving complex problems with a blend of technical expertise and business acumen. The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with expert-level knowledge of content management and merchandising systems, capable of strategically prioritizing requests in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• At least 5 years of experience in an ecommerce organization.
• At least 2 years of experience managing direct reports.
• Expert-level knowledge of Content Management Systems like Contentful
• Experience using PIM systems, catalog management and merchandising systems
• Proficiency with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Tableau).
• Strong Excel skills for business reporting, data analysis, and workflow optimization.
• Experience managing a retail website and app, with a deep understanding of site hierarchy and product feeds.
• Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana) for tracking timelines and deliverables.
• Experience with documenting technical and business processes
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and leadership alignment.
• Highly organized and deadline-driven, with strong troubleshooting skills and follow-through.
• Understanding of digital marketing channels and ecommerce best practices.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency with Contentful.
• Experience with JIRA/Atlassian.
• Familiarity with A/B testing.
• Experience using AI tools like Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini.
• Familiarity with SEO best practices for ecommerce.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multi-level web production team, providing mentorship, training, and day-to-day support.
• Oversee web operations and user experience for the North American website and app, including content management, owned and dropship inventory, product attribution, publishing, taxonomy, catalog hierarchy, category navigation, and elements of site merchandising.
• Manage high-visibility launches and marketing campaigns, ensuring seamless technical execution and optimal user experience.
• Develop and implement scalable processes to improve key web production tasks such as content management, product activation, QA, promotions, and on-site search maintenance.
• Collaborate with Ecommerce and Digital Marketing teams to align brand vision with UX, functionality, and merchandising strategies.
• Analyze performance data to inform strategic decisions that improve conversion and drive sales.
• Execute content updates, site promotions, A/B testing, and merchandising strategies.
• Partner with leadership and external vendors and technology partners to support site enhancements and functionality improvements.
• Own publishing targets and contribute to conversion rate optimization goals.
• Oversee end-to-end performance health for web and mobile properties, serving as a primary point of contact for technical anomalies and ensuring high-priority issues are accurately triaged and escalated to engineering and stakeholder teams.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with cross-functional teams including DTC Technology, Buying, Operations, Photo Studio, Styling, Copy, DC/Call Center, SEO/Digital Marketing, Planning, Marketing, Analytics, IT, Product Management, UX/Research, Merchandising, and Creative.
