The Web Press Operator I is responsible for the daily operation of web presses under the direction of a press operator. Key aspects of this role include maintaining the cleanliness and operational readiness of the press, coordinating with internal departments to ensure the availability of necessary materials such as ink, plates, paper, and tape, and verifying the accuracy and quality of all printed materials produced by the press.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Must display excellent work habits
Willingness to be a team player
Must be able to identify colors and imperfections
Proven track record in waste reduction and profit improvement
High Mechanical Reasoning Expectations
Ability to make decisions regarding roll of paper in good condition
Ability to make decisions regarding stock being produced meets quality specifications
Ability to make decisions regarding basic operations of the equipment in good working order

Nice To Haves

Minimum 3 years offset/web printing experience

Responsibilities

Responsible for the daily operation of web presses as directed by the press operator.
Maintain cleanliness and operation of press.
Coordinate with internal agencies for required materials: i.e. ink plate paper tape etc.
Ensure accuracy of printed material coming from the press.
Press Start-up Procedures
Daily/Weekly Maintenance and Safety checks.
Machine operation to include: print unit setup, numbering unit setup, process unit setup, delivery unit setup and other operations necessary to complete print operator duties.
Quality inspections: before print, while printing and after.
Clean up and shut down procedures/End of shift activities.
Communication.
