About The Position

The Web Experience Manager position will serve in a layered and multifaceted role as principal web administrator of the National Ministries UCC providing subject matter expertise regarding all web platforms and websites. This position will lead ministries/teams through webpage redesigns, iterations and migrations, by combining quantitative data and qualitative insights to optimize the user’s web experience. This position coordinates requests for web and digital updates and changes to www.ucc.org and related web and digital properties of the National Ministries United Church of Christ (NMUCC). The position serves as primary customer support specialist for UCC Everywhere, the digital marketing program designed to help churches with their digital offerings.

Requirements

  • A college degree in computer science, digital media, visual communication design, information technology, web design or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5-7 years’ experience working in the digital industry covering brand, digital, and web experience with digital communications platforms in a professional context, including content management systems (CMS) and constituent communications providers.
  • Experience maintaining and creating website content in various mediums (text, images, video, multimedia) in enterprise or multi-brand level environments.
  • A working knowledge and familiarity of HTML, CSS, content/graphic asset creation, implementation/content publishing, web administration and content management systems at an enterprise level.
  • Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to UCC Everywhere customer inquiries.
  • Experience empowering tech-savvy team members who bring a wide range of skills and experience to the table.
  • Competency in web policy and digital workflow procedures.
  • Abilities in managing information and the transfer of data into appropriate web language.
  • Problem-solver with excellent communications skills; responsive and dependable
  • Understanding of analytics.
  • Strong phone and email contact handling skills and active listening.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain NMUCC websites to ensure excellent user experience; optimize website performance for excellent digital marketing results; optimize website performance for seamless delivery of multiple content types (video, etc.).
  • Collaborate with the Philanthropy Team for all web giving portals, driving the interface across all web platforms to inspire increased philanthropy and a clarified digital NMUCC catalogue of giving opportunities.
  • Manage the denomination's content management system (CMS), including the preparation and deployment of templates, instructional resources, best practices for the organization, and other resources to ensure a user-friendly site on behalf of all CMS users.
  • Provide training and workshops on CMS, educating staff and designated editors on how to edit and format pages, improve content, and leverage tools and resources available.
  • Ensure that all pages throughout www.ucc.org and other NMUCC sites meet brand standards including language, themes, design, and policy.
  • Support the Director of Marketing and Communications in building a skilled, innovative, execution-focused, agile, and data-driven team and a web, digital, and technological infrastructure of equal measure.
  • Work within the team to execute the strategic priorities as established by leadership; contribute to team goals.
  • Collaborate with web content editors responsible for making content updates to various websites, as needed.
  • Provide full professional website support, respond to change requests, and assist internal and designated external stakeholders with web and digital requests.
  • Administer the NMUCC Everywhere Digital Marketing Program, including providing customer support and helping craft and execute short and long-term marketing plans for the program in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead the strategy, development, optimization, and intake processes for the UCC Everywhere website platform - partnering with internal and external stakeholders to deliver exceptional user experiences, streamlined processes, and seasonal content delivery.
  • Manage ongoing customer support service requests from UCC Everywhere clients
  • Communicate and assess on an ongoing basis the scope of technology capabilities and needs in alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
  • Balance a solid understanding of the organizational goals and priorities with the technological limitations and opportunities of our software, hardware, content management systems, and web servers.
  • Oversee, support, and execute day-to-day content updates and maintenance needs of the websites, ensuring all content, images, forms, and web pages look and work properly.
  • Develops standard operating procedures with internal and external stakeholders regarding any website digital updates and website adjacent projects.
  • Establish and maintain clear lines of communication and collaborative partnerships with MarCom, and all relevant teams including relevant external partners and providers.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of organizational goals and priorities and the capabilities of our technology, software, hardware, content management systems, and web servers to accomplish those goals.
