About The Position

Supports the mission of Norwich University by maintaining the Library, Archives, Museum's (LAM's) online presence, administering and facilitating access to the library's electronic resource collections, and compiling usage and other statistical reports. Participates as a member of the team providing reference and instructional support in a broad range of subject areas. This is a faculty ranked position.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in library and/or information science from ALA-accredited institution.
  • Experience or interest in applying principles of user experience design and digital accessibility.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the e-resource publishing environment and scholarly communications.
  • Experience working with e-resources tools including OpenURL resolvers, proxy systems, knowledge base, ERM systems, and digital repository platforms preferred.
  • Familiarity with current and emerging technologies in digital and web-based library services.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and to work cooperatively with others.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook).
  • Able to sit, squat, reach, push, pull, and manipulate related equipment; lift 25 pounds; travel outdoors to various parts of the campus.
  • Work some evening or weekend hours.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and administer the library's electronic resources management (ERM) system.
  • Provides leadership for the library's web presence and manages all web content in library's CMS.
  • Serves as primary vendor liaison for contract compliance and service issues with all library electronic resources partners.
  • Negotiates licensing and service agreements with e-resource providers and technology vendors.
  • Coordinates the life cycle (evaluation, acquisition, administration, and support) of electronic resources.
  • Works collaboratively with library and Information Technology Services staff to establish and maintain access to electronic resources and troubleshoot access problems.
  • Supports the Head of LAM Systems & Digital services in the implementation, maintenance, development, and enhancement of library systems.
  • Participates in core librarian responsibilities including research support, information literacy instruction, and collection development.
  • Participates as a core member of the in-person and online reference and research consultation programs at the LAM.
  • Contributes to library planning and policy development.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
