About The Position
Internship Overview: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Web Development Intern to join our Information Technology Team. This role is ideal for a student or recent graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in building, maintaining, and optimizing websites. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to sustainability efforts in the energy sector, gain mentorship and networking opportunities with industry professionals, and gain the potential for future full-time employment opportunities. This position is required to report to our office located in Badin, North Carolina. We are not offering relocation at this time. What you’ll do: Assist in developing, customizing, and maintaining websites built on Drupal and WordPress Create and modify themes and templates Install, configure, and update plugins and modules Support content updates and site migrations Troubleshoot website issues and bugs Optimize websites for performance, accessibility, and SEO Collaborate with designers to implement responsive UI/UX designs Participate in testing and quality assurance processes Document development processes and technical changes
Nice To Haves
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Information Technology, or related field
- Experience working with Drupal and/or WordPress (academic, internship, or personal projects)
- Understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
- Familiarity with PHP
- Basic understanding of responsive design principles
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
