The University of Florida is looking for a Web Developer to support and enhance the division’s digital presence. In this role, you will maintain, develop, and improve a portfolio of websites while ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and visual quality across platforms. Key responsibilities include: Web Maintenance Continually evaluate the division’s websites to ensure accuracy, consistency, usability, and visual quality Monitor sites with daily content updates to confirm information remains current, accessible, and compliant with standards Proactively research emerging web technologies, design trends, and platform capabilities Recommend and implement enhancements that support continuous improvement of the division’s digital presence Web Development Serve as the division’s webmaster, supporting the full lifecycle of website development Contribute to system architecture, coding, implementation, testing, troubleshooting, and deployment Develop and maintain sites within WordPress CMS and Slate CRM environments Apply UF branding standards and modern development best practices Ensure compliance with WCAG accessibility requirements and industry standards Collaborate with staff to translate functional and business needs into effective, user-centered technical solutions Digital Asset Management Support the organization, cataloging, and long-term stewardship of digital assets Work with staff to establish and maintain metadata standards and asset organization workflows Improve consistency, efficiency of retrieval, and sustainability of digital file management practices Bug Tracking and Additional Responsibilities Partner with customers and IT support resources to identify and document website issues Analyze root causes related to performance, functionality, and design Recommend and implement effective solutions to maintain stable, user-friendly web environments Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
