About The Position

Savannah State University seeks qualified applicants for Web Developer. This position has a key role in planning, building and maintaining Savannah State University’s websites and web applications. The Web Developer supports academic and non-academic units with their web-related projects. This positon writes performant and secure front-end and back-end code; and is expected to use current best practices across a variety of technologies. Creates, implements, and maintains intuitive and functional web design; writes high quality, SEO –focused front-end code using HTML5, CSS and JavaScript. Writes and maintains web applications and API’s built in . NET ; administers CMS and hosting environments. May be directed to perform job related tasks other than those specifically delineated in this description. Salary competitive and commensurate with education and experience.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field with at least three years of relevant experience preferred.
Deep understanding of web standards and best practices
Strong knowledge of general web development techniques/ concepts such as SEO , analytics and accessibility.
Familiarity with developing API’s in C#
In-depth understanding of relational databases including MSSQL & Oracle
Experience with JavaScript including frameworks and libraries like Angular and JQuery.
Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS , and Bootstrap.
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, data networks and web security
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Background and/or credit check required.
