The Web Developer will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the County of Muskegon's Internet and Intranet websites, ensuring they align with the County's branding and communication strategies. This role involves planning, designing, and implementing innovative solutions for both internal and external communications, as well as engaging with the community through social media. The Web Developer will also serve as the technical support contact for county facilities and will collaborate with various departments to curate relevant content for the website.

  • Develop and maintain the County's Internet and Intranet websites.
  • Plan and design website features consistent with County branding.
  • Implement innovative internal and external communications strategies.
  • Engage with the community through social media outreach.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to determine relevant website content.
  • Provide technical support for county facilities' technical assets and rentals.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a closely related field with a minimum of two years of full-time work experience in information systems; OR an Associate's degree in a related field with a minimum of four years of full-time work experience; OR completion of work as an Information Systems Technician II for at least two years.
  • Reliable transportation for job duties.
  • Understanding of Graphic Design and Branding
  • Knowledge of Local Government programs and Operations
  • Experience with Government CMS platforms such as Civic Engage and Granicus
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, and Social Media
