Utah Valley University is seeking a Web Developer I to join the Digital Transformation/CIO division. This part-time position plays a crucial role in creating, maintaining, and supporting university websites using the approved content management system and front-end web languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The Web Developer will work closely with various departments to provide necessary web assistance and technical support, ensuring that web projects align with departmental procedures and timelines. Continuous learning is essential, as the role requires staying updated with the latest front-end web technologies, accessibility guidelines, web analytics, and SEO best practices. The Web Developer will be responsible for creating and maintaining web pages and sites using the approved content management system. This includes utilizing HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other related front-end web languages to develop UVU's public and internal-facing websites, adhering to university web guidelines and industry best practices. The role also involves collaborating with assigned departments to provide web assistance, basic maintenance, content management, and technical support. Additionally, the Web Developer will guide projects such as website builds, ensuring they remain within the defined timeline, scope, and standard development methods. Keeping abreast of front-end web technologies, including best practices for HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/jQuery, as well as web accessibility guidelines, web analytics, and SEO, is a critical aspect of this position. The Web Developer will also be expected to perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the university's digital presence.
