The Web Designer for the City of Dallas is responsible for developing, designing, and maintaining the city's internet and intranet web pages. This role requires a blend of artistic and technical expertise to create engaging digital content for various departments, ensuring that the information is accessible and visually appealing to the public.

  • Develops, designs, and maintains various websites for departments within the City.
  • Creates and updates web graphics, makes changes per departmental requests, and manages basic settings for hosted sites.
  • Meets with representatives from client departments to plan web site projects and creates wireframes and mockups for review.
  • Implements time-sensitive updates to web site information and troubleshoots web content issues.
  • Designs and recommends technical solutions based on Internet technologies.
  • Works with the Public Information Department to disseminate citizen-sensitive information for the website.
  • Researches and learns new web technologies and makes purchasing recommendations for future updates.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Marketing, English, Journalism, Media Arts, or related field.
  • Three years of work experience as a Content Creator, Content Specialist, Digital Content Specialist, or similar roles.
  • Thorough knowledge of web development principles and techniques.
  • Considerable knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and web page production.
  • Certification or License in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.
