The Web Content Specialist at VacationPort is responsible for managing and maintaining travel-related content within content management systems. This role involves writing engaging descriptions of destinations, ensuring data accuracy, and troubleshooting content-related issues, all while working remotely. The ideal candidate should possess strong English language skills and a keen interest in travel, contributing to the accessibility of accurate travel information for millions of users.

  • Accurately transcribe rich travel data into content management tools.
  • Write short, original descriptions/summaries of travel destinations and attractions.
  • Proofread and update existing content to maintain quality, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Utilize basic HTML/CSS for formatting and perform simple photo edits such as cropping and resizing.
  • Conduct careful reviews of existing content, ensuring information is complete, accurate, and well-presented.
  • Verify correct data placement within the appropriate fields.
  • Address content inquiries, bug reports, and enhancement requests.
  • Communicate professionally and promptly with internal teams and external customers to resolve content issues.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Basic understanding of HTML and CSS.
  • Familiarity with issue-tracking and content management systems is beneficial.
  • Basic skills with photo editing tools are a plus.
  • Access to a reliable internet connection and a suitable home office environment for remote work.
  • Excellent English language skills with a strong command of grammar and syntax.
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy in both data entry and written content.
  • Ability to produce short, engaging descriptive text for a variety of travel destinations and attractions.
  • Ability to attend regular morning team meetings at 8:30 AM PT and effectively manage time and responsibilities in a fully remote environment.
  • Self-motivated and disciplined, capable of working independently in a fully remote setting.
