About The Position

The Web Application Developer supports the Software Development Team in developing and maintaining web-based applications for unmanned rocket launches at the Eastern Range (Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, FL). This role focuses on maintaining existing Classic ASP applications, migrating them to modern ASP.NET frameworks, and implementing new features to meet mission requirements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software development experience with Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Experience with Classic ASP and modern ASP.NET frameworks
  • Familiarity with migrating legacy web applications to modern frameworks
  • .NET 4.x Framework (C#, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, VB.NET)
  • Entity Framework, AngularJS, SQL Server 2008/2012 (T-SQL queries, stored procedures)
  • HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery
  • Team Foundation Server (TFS) or similar version control tools
  • Web Services (RESTful or Web API), XML
  • Experience with defect tracking and source code version control
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming in an n-tier architecture
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required
  • Current CompTIA Security+ or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment

  • Requires occasional adjusted work hours (nights, weekends, holidays) to meet important product delivery deadlines and to support launches
  • Occasional local travel may be required
  • Must have and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship or U.S. Naturalization
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license is required
  • All candidates selected will be subject to a security background investigation and must meet all eligibility requirements for access to classified information
  • College Degrees must come from a school that is accredited in the discipline of the degree to be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers, Software Architects, clients, and other developers with requirements gathering analysis, design, and project planning
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members
  • Perform modification, testing, and debugging of vendor-supplied utilities and packages to ensure fit with current operating environment
  • Design, code, and maintain complex applications for efficiency and regular updates
  • Develop and implement SharePoint customizations and web parts using Visual Studio and .NET technologies
  • Implement new features and optimize existing functionality based on business requirements
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, test plan reviews, and documentation reviews
  • Develop and execute test plans for new and existing application functionality
  • Review and edit program and user documentation to ensure usability and accessibility
  • Maintain project plans, requirements and design documents, and other system documentation
  • Develop and maintain work procedures and instructions
