Weather Intern
About The Position
WRGB CBS6 is offering an unpaid quarter or semester weather internship within its News Department. This program is designed for students interested in broadcast meteorology, weather forecasting, or weather production, providing hands-on experience in a professional newsroom. The internship aims to expose students to the daily weather process, including forecast preparation, weather meetings, and the development and sharing of weather stories across broadcast and digital platforms. No prior newsroom experience is required, only a strong interest in weather and a willingness to learn.
Requirements
- Must be attending an accredited college or university and studying meteorology, atmospheric science, mass communications, or a related major
- Each intern is required to work 10–20 hours per week, including some weekends
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must receive academic credit for the internship experience
- Must be registered for college at his or her institution during the quarter or semester in which the internship is performed
- Must have reliable transportation
