About The Position

MIRACORP is hiring Weather Forecasters to support the 28th Operational Weather Squadron (OWS) at Shaw AFB. This position plays a key role in producing mission-critical weather analyses and environmental intelligence for Air Force and joint operations across the USCENTCOM Area of Responsibility.

Requirements

• Eight (8) years of recent DoD weather forecasting experience OR Four-year degree plus four (4) years of DoD forecasting experience
• Military 7-level (or equivalent) certification or civil service equivalent
• Active Secret Clearance
• Ability to work rotating 24/7 shifts
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate weather analyses, forecasts, and mission execution products for global Air Force and joint operations.
• Monitor and interpret satellite, radar, lightning, and observational data to assess environmental impacts.
• Issue and update watches, warnings, and advisories for assigned locations.
• Support 24/7/365 operational weather activities, including rotating shifts and mission briefings.
• Provide weather inputs for mission planning, routing, and risk assessment.
• Collaborate with forecasters and mission partners to ensure consistent, high-quality support.
• Assist with training, certification, and quality assurance of weather products.
• Utilize AFW WEBS, LEADS, MARK IV B, and other Air Force weather systems.
• Maintain compliance with COMSEC, OPSEC, and information assurance requirements.
