Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for an Weapons Integration Engineer/Principal Weapons Integration Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Melbourne, FL. This position may be filled by either at the Weapons Integration Engineer level OR at the Principal Weapons Integration Engineer level based on the qualifications listed. The Weapons Integration Engineer is expected to be a highly motivated self-starter with an ability to operate effectively on a team of engineers.

Requirements

  • Weapons Integration Engineer (T02): Must have a Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 2 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master's degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. (STEM) AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.
  • Active In-Scope DoD Secret clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR) - needed to start.
  • Principal Weapons Integration Engineer (T03): Must have a Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master's degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 3 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. (STEM) AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.
  • Active In-Scope DoD Secret clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR) - needed to start.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with weapons STE equipment
  • Working knowledge of governing standards to include Platform-Store ICD, MIL-STD-1553, MIL-STD-1760
  • Experience working with weapons suppliers

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating electrical systems, products components, and applications by designing and testing products
  • Requirements management, system integration, test plan development, and test execution of a weapon system throughout the entire development, demonstration, and production phases.
  • General understanding of Platform-Store ICDs for non-conventional weapons to include but not limited to: MIL-STD-1760, Stores Management Systems (SMS), MIL-STD-1553 and Suspension and Release Equipment (S&RE).
  • The successful candidate will be expected to understand all system requirements, develop statements of work, specifications and interface control documents, prepare, monitor and update program schedules, conduct and participate in all related design reviews, and provide technical guidance to the cross-functional team.
