About The Position

Morgan Stanley is a leading global financial services firm offering investment banking, securities, investment management, and wealth management services to clients worldwide. The Wealth Strategies & Planning Tools (WSPT) team, part of Morgan Stanley’s Global Investment Office, serves ultra-high net-worth and institutional clients within Wealth Management. The team has two primary mandates: first, to provide clients and prospective clients with solutions that integrate their planning and investment decisions, supported by quantitative analyses illustrating strategy tradeoffs; and second, to develop and maintain a toolset for financial advisor teams to create analyses using their own derived strategies. WSPT frequently addresses asset allocation and asset location strategies, and also handles complex situations such as advanced wealth planning, employee stock options, private equity commitments, single stock strategies, and structured products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree along with 2-4 years of relevant work experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills – relevant coursework in Finance/Mathematics/Statistics
  • Interpersonal skills – individual will have extensive interaction with internal and external clients
  • Understanding of global financial markets, asset allocation and portfolio construction considerations
  • Series 7 and 66 licensed or willingness to obtain upon hire

Nice To Haves

  • Programming skills in Matlab and VBA is a strong plus

Responsibilities

  • Working with the field, management, operations, and technology to help build and enhance enterprise solutions
  • Testing investment tools and documenting procedures, methodologies, risks, and utilization
  • Strategizing with financial advisors on customized strategies for ultra-high net-worth and institutional clients
  • Modeling ad hoc financial analyses, producing client presentations, and presenting information to financial advisors
