About The Position

B. Riley Wealth is a leading private wealth and investment management platform that provides comprehensive, collaborative financial solutions to individuals and families, businesses and institutions, non-profits, trusts, foundations, and endowments. We are seeking a full-time Tax Preparer to work in our Poughkeepsie, NY tax office for preparation of individual and business income tax returns for the 2025 tax season. The hourly rate for this position is $25-$35 per hour.

Requirements

• Three to five years of professional work experience preparing tax returns.
• Demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently.

Nice To Haves

• CPA or Enrolled Agent a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client interviews to understand their financial circumstances and gather necessary documentation.
• Review client-provided financial data for completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare individual and business income tax returns using Ultra Tax software.
• Respond to client inquiries and research tax-related issues as needed.
• Identify opportunities to assist clients by leveraging the full suite of services offered by the firm.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
