Wealth R&D Team Overview The Wealth Research & Development (R&D) team at State Street is a newer strategic innovation group focused on designing and delivering next-generation wealth management solutions. This team operates as an incubator for new ideas, leveraging advanced technology, data analytics, and client-centric design to transform how wealth services are delivered. What you will be responsible for As a Technology Co-op on the Wealth R&D team, you will actively contribute to shaping innovative solutions for the future of wealth management. This role emphasizes emerging technologies such as agentic and generative AI, data science, data management and application development. You will work on evaluating technical solutions, designing test strategies, and participating in proof-of-concept initiatives to validate next-generation capabilities. Your responsibilities will include: Research & Analysis: Investigate cutting-edge technologies, frameworks, and design principles to inform product strategy and innovation priorities. Data & Insights: Gather, clean, and analyze data to support AI-driven initiatives and digital platform development. Product Development Support: Collaborate with product managers and engineers on requirements gathering, design and architecture documentation, feature testing, and quality assurance for emerging solutions. Innovation Projects: Contribute to proof-of-concept initiatives, helping validate new technologies and approaches for wealth platforms. Client-Centric Design: Translate principles captured in user research activities, persona development, and feedback sessions into solution designs. Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders across technology, product, and strategy teams to align deliverables with business objectives. Lead knowledge transfer sessions to ensure a broad understanding of the technology architecture across the range of constituents – internal team, partners, clients and program executives. Presentation & Reporting: Prepare summaries, dashboards, and presentations to communicate findings and progress to leadership and project teams. These skills will help you succeed in this role Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret data, identify patterns, and draw actionable insights to inform product architecture and design. Technical Aptitude: Proficiency with tools for data gathering (SQL), data analysis (Excel, Python, or similar), AI models, and front and back end development for generative and interactive agentic AI Research Skills: Strong capability to conduct technical research to evaluate products, tools, competitor capabilities and synthesize findings into clear recommendations. Collaboration & Communication: Comfort working in cross-functional teams and effectively communicating ideas through written and verbal channels to both technical and non-technical colleagues Problem-Solving Mindset: Creative approach to tackling challenges and contributing to proof-of-concept initiatives. Attention to Detail: Precision in handling data, documentation, and testing activities to ensure quality outcomes. Precision in communication to ensure smooth information delivery.
