About The Position

The Financial Planning Analyst is a developing professional role. Deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices. A strong understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the subfunction/job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information. Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact. Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Moderate but direct impact through close contact with the business's core activities. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years relevant experience.
  • CFP® preferred or working towards a CFP® designation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and Word).
  • Analytical and modeling skills / NaviPlan, MoneyGuide Pro and NumberCruncher experience preferred.
  • Understanding of cash flow planning, investment planning, income tax planning, retirement planning, insurance planning, and estate planning.
  • Must be a self-starter, problem solver and a goal-oriented team player.
  • US FINRA Registration: SIE; Series 7/66 (65 + 63) must be obtained within 150 days of hire date.
  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive financial plans for Wealth Advisors and their clients.
  • Create financial statement analysis, cash flow and income statement, balance sheet and personal financial analysis.
  • Provide a holistic approach to financial planning including cash management, college planning, estate planning, investment planning, insurance/risk management and retirement planning.
  • Identify potential needs and shortfalls and collaborate with Wealth Planning Specialist team members to propose and model financial solutions.
  • Identify cross-sell opportunities and product solutions for Wealth Advisors and Wealth Planning Specialists based on comprehensive financial analysis.
  • Support the Wealth Planning team and assist Wealth Advisors in illustrating proposed solutions to clients.
  • Answer Wealth Advisors' questions on planning development, policies, procedures and inquiries on Naviplan and MoneyGuide Pro applications.
  • Assist Wealth Advisors and Wealth Planning Specialists with plan creation.
  • Identify planning opportunities and make outbound calls to Wealth Advisors.
  • Model and stress test financial goals with Monte Carlo simulations.
  • Create what-if alternative solutions to meet financial goals.
  • Submit plans via Salesforce for Supervisory Principal review/approval.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and compliance with applicable laws.
