SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES The Wealth and Fiduciary Advisor is responsible for managing a book of fiduciary/investment management relationships while maintaining knowledge of Investments, financial and estate planning, fiduciary law and regulatory requirements. This position may serve as a primary point of contact to clients and promotes retention and growth of existing relationships and the development of new business. This position may also serve as a supporting role in the ongoing administration of client relationships in situations where fiduciary expertise is required and the relationship is otherwise managed by a Wealth Advisor or Senior Wealth Advisor. The role requires an ability to successfully forge relationships with internal and external business partners in designated markets.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent work experience (5 years of trust and fiduciary related work). Preferred MBA, JD, CTFA, CFP or CPA
  • Experience: Minimum of five years personal trust experience
  • Knowledge: PC proficiency including Microsoft Office, demonstrated strong communication skills, both oral and written, strong math aptitude. Thorough knowledge of the interpretation and practical application of document provisions, probate law, taxes, investments, and the legal framework of trust administration.

Responsibilities

  • Performs administrative functions in coordination with the Wealth Associate that include: account openings account additions financial transactions questions and complaints asset/cash monitoring account closing fee processing compliance oversight of account discretionary distributions regulatory reporting
  • Prepares account information with assistance of Wealth Associate for the Management Oversight Committee (MOC).
  • Understands and follows the fiduciary terms of trust agreement(s).
  • Obtains and maintains current fiduciary information and other critical information necessary to successfully manage relationships.
  • Coordinates management of non-financial assets such as real estate.
  • Understands the financial, retirement, and estate planning goals of client.
  • Works with Portfolio Manager to establish and/or review investment objectives with clients.
  • Identifies problems and resolves them effectively and in a timely manner. Ensures problem resolution follow-up is performed, especially with the client, if necessary.
  • Initiates ongoing contact to provide proactive, value-added client service.
  • Provides expert advice/solutions for fiduciary problems and inquiries.
  • Works with the Private Wealth team on the sale of new business and additions to existing relationships.
  • Strives to achieve standard pricing for new and existing relationships.
  • Conducts sales presentations and client meetings as appropriate.
  • Handles the administrative details of settling probate estates to ensure accurate and timely distribution of assets to beneficiaries.
  • Ensures timely completion of court filings, creditor’s payments, asset liquidations, and distributions.
  • Coordinates with attorneys or accountants of record to ensure timely and accurate preparation of post-mortem tax plans and determination of payment of personal, estate, and generation-skipping transfer tax liabilities.
  • Proactively controls and minimizes potential risks through knowledge and implementation.
