About The Position

The Wealth Client Associate at M&T Bank is responsible for supporting the servicing and sales enablement activities aimed at driving new client relationships and enhancing existing High Net Worth (HNW) and Ultra-High Net Worth (UHNW) client relationships within Wealth Management. This role involves delivering on the Client Service Value Proposition, collaborating with key stakeholders, and utilizing operational expertise to ensure clients receive tailored resources and solutions. The associate will also resolve routine service issues and contribute to a positive client experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 1 years' financial services client service experience, or a combined minimum of 5 years' higher education and/or work experience including 1 year of financial services client service experience.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with personal computers and pertinent software (word processing, spreadsheet, presentation).

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 3 years' private banking, wealth management, commercial banking and/or branch experience.
  • Exposure to and knowledge of the Bank's retail and commercial banking systems.
  • Knowledge of Private Banking products and services.
  • Trust experience.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment.

Responsibilities

  • Service the daily transaction needs of wealth clients, including problem resolution, overdrafts, account delinquency, wire transfers, book transfers, and account maintenance.
  • Apply sound, independent judgment and take ownership over operational problems resulting from direct interaction with clients or obtained from the Client Team.
  • Open and onboard new client relationships, ensuring clients are acclimated with systems and have received necessary information.
  • Build, manage, and maintain strong client relationships through daily interactions with clients and internal business partners.
  • Provide sales support for market-specific special projects, such as event coordination and sales initiatives.
  • Remain current on products, services, internal policies, and external regulations affecting clients and the Bank.
  • Review daily department reports for compliance with operation, security, and audit procedures.
  • Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, identifying issues needing escalation.
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Maintain internal control standards, implementing audit points and addressing issues raised by regulators.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.
