The Northside Achievement Zone (NAZ) is a bold and innovative collaborative effort to close the achievement gap in a geographic 'Zone' of North Minneapolis. Our work aims to end multigenerational poverty in our community, using education as a lever. We use a data-driven, evidence-based, achievement-focused model in which both children and their families move through a 'cradle-to-career' ecosystem that provides comprehensive support. NAZ is a leading initiative in the national Promise Neighborhoods and cradle-to-college/career movement. As NAZ learns what works with families in North Minneapolis to address complex issues related to urban poverty, strategies are being set up for replication and informing the regional, state, and national fields. Seeking a committed, highly motivated, and detail-oriented Wealth Builds Minneapolis Program Manager to support the planning and implementation of NAZ Strategic Pathways to Opportunity Framework. This position focuses on supporting Northside youth in building financial capital (asset building) and promoting financial literacy and education in a new high-priority strategic initiative called Wealth Builds (WB). The Wealth Builds initiative, which is designed to close the wealth gap, is being implemented as a new programmatic offering within NAZ’s comprehensive wrap-around support for Northside families. In partnership with the Harlem Children’s Zone (HCZ), Wealth Builds Minneapolis is focusing on creating pathways for social and economic mobility for Black youth and young adults.
