About The Position

The Wealth Advisor III is responsible for maintaining existing client relationships and growing their portfolio by building new client relationships. This individual will have a broad and deep understanding of sophisticated wealth management practices and investment strategies. The Wealth Advisor III will create and deliver comprehensive wealth plans and coordinated financial strategies to align with each client's goals and values. The experienced advisor will be a thoughtful listener, have a strong team mentality and be driven to grow professionally and personally, while providing mentorship and guidance to colleagues. In addition to delivering comprehensive wealth planning, Wealth Advisor III is accountable for achieving new business revenue goals through proactive client acquisition and strategic relationship development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in Wealth Management, Business Development, and Relationship Management.

Nice To Haves

  • CFP, CPA, or JD certification(s) preferred with mandatory continuing education requirements established by the company.

Responsibilities

  • Strengthen existing client relationships to ensure long-term engagement and satisfaction.
  • Prospect new clients by actively engaging with the community and introducing them to Tompkins Financial services.
  • Expand share of wallet by identifying opportunities to offer additional services to current clients.
  • Generate referrals through strategic networking with centers of influence and community involvement.
  • Develop comprehensive financial plans using structured processes and software tools.
  • Ensure client experience standards are met in collaboration with the client strategy team.
  • Create and lead client strategy teams by engaging other professionals based on client needs.
  • Provide expert advice across wealth management disciplines (investment, banking, trust, insurance).
  • Deliver personalized financial planning by uncovering client goals, values, and financial circumstances.
  • Support team growth and development by mentoring colleagues, sharing expertise, and contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
  • Uphold compliance and ethical standards by ensuring all client interactions and business practices align with regulatory requirements.
