About The Position

About the Role & Program Walt Disney Imagineering is the creative force that imagines, designs and brings to life all Disney theme parks, resorts, attractions and cruise ships worldwide. Working across a spectrum of teams that range from creative and conceptual to scientific and technical, we blend an innovative mixture of storytelling, art, science and technology to create immersive experiences, memorable destinations, and innovative entertainment for families around the globe! The approximate date of this internship is June to December 2026 and will be located in Anaheim, CA. What You Will Do We are looking for a Show Lighting Design intern who has a true passion for lighting. As an intern on the team, you will work with the team that researches, designs, develops, installs, tests and adjusts, and/or documents new projects. These projects apply architectural and theatrical lighting techniques supporting the creative vision for attractions, restaurants, merchandise areas and/or area development in our WDW Orlando based theme park and resort areas! Requirements

  • Hands on experience with theatrical or architectural lighting
  • Experience with AutoCAD & Revit
  • Computer literacy with MS Office products
  • Ability to work as a member of a technical team
  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • Currently enrolled as a Junior or higher attending an accredited college/university earning a degree majoring in a Theatrical or Architectural Lighting program, or related field.
  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
  • Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work
  • Must be fully available for the duration of the internship
  • Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship in Anaheim, CA

Responsibilities

  • Develop, under supervision, designs of show lighting
  • Prepare, under supervision, basic lighting design and field implementation
  • Troubleshoot and install existing lighting in a construction environment
  • Provide general support to Lighting Designers
