The WCM Process Improvement Manager is responsible for managing the company's Principles of Conduct and Action expectations while supporting all plant pillar initiatives. This role involves overseeing all improvement activities aimed at enhancing overall plant operations, reducing material usage, minimizing process variation and losses, and improving employee competency. The manager will utilize World Class Manufacturing (WCM) and Six Sigma methodologies and tools to reduce all forms of waste and improve operational metrics. The position requires energizing team members through collaboration, challenging the status quo, and seeking innovative solutions to enhance efficiency. In addition to managing the Continuous Improvement hourly team, the manager will administer the Shreveport WCM 5S program and conduct Kaizen events in areas that require additional support. Responsibilities also include managing the facility's training program, documenting all training processes, and overseeing all controlled documents. The manager will work closely with department leaders to enhance hourly employee competencies across all job bid positions by utilizing documented methods such as Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Work Instructions (WI), and ISO-9001 quality procedures. The role requires the development and maintenance of standard work instructions, One Point Lessons, training procedures, manuals, and other necessary training documentation. The manager will also oversee the “Cost Deployment-Loss Identification” process for the entire facility, creating and supporting teams that focus on identified improvement opportunities. Analyzing loss data to pinpoint top improvement opportunities and utilizing this data to develop cost-saving initiatives throughout the plant is a key responsibility. The manager will also manage the plant's cost savings WCM tracker and provide leadership in problem-solving by utilizing the plant's Root Cause Analysis (RCA) process and applying Six Sigma methods to solve complex problems. As the administrator of all electronic communication using plant ELO boards and the MES system, the manager will carry out advanced data collection and analysis to identify raw material losses and develop solutions for improvement. Additionally, the manager will oversee capital CAPEX projects within their area of responsibility and lead all plant strategic pillar objectives and initiatives as required. The role may also involve leading process improvement changes and implementing SMART technology and equipment changes using the Management of Change (MOC) process. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
