About The Position

The WBBM Newsradio is seeking a part-time News Anchor/Reporter who will be responsible for developing story ideas, gathering information, conducting interviews, and preparing stories for air. The role requires operating technical equipment and staying updated with news developments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in radio news and excellent communication skills.

• Extensive background in radio news with strong on-air communication skills.
• Experience as a reporter and strong writing skills.
• Ability to think on feet and handle high-pressure situations.
• Excellent vocal quality and diction.
• Curiosity and rapport with diverse individuals.
• Ability to gather information quickly and prepare stories for air.
• Team player with strong critical thinking skills.

• Experience covering a variety of stories as a reporter.

Responsibilities

• Develop story ideas for coverage and collaborate with the desk.
• Gather information, conduct interviews, and prepare stories for air.
• Operate technical equipment, including audio control boards and recording machines.
• Study and become an expert on daily content changes.
• Evaluate new situations quickly and decide how best to obtain information.
• Stay up to date with local, national, and international news developments.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.
