We’re looking for a hands-on, motivated leader to help launch and grow this flagship location. Job Overview: The Waxing Specialist / Manager plays a pivotal dual role, balancing leadership and service. In this position, you will manage daily operations, lead and develop your team, and also perform waxing services as a licensed esthetician. This role typically includes 15-20 hours per week of service work and 15-20 hours of management work, depending on business needs – with the intention of growing into a full-time Studio Manager role as the studio reaches maximum capacity. You will report directly to the Owner and serve as the studio’s day-to-day leader, ensuring both operational excellence and an exceptional client experience.

Requirements

  • Oregon Esthetician or Cosmetology License (required).
  • 5+ years of experience in the salon/spa or beauty industry, with at least 1–2 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to motivate and lead a team while maintaining a positive and professional environment.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Comfort with using digital systems for scheduling, sales tracking, and reporting.
  • Passion for the beauty industry and commitment to excellence in client care.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily studio operations, including scheduling, cleanliness, and compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Lead, train, and motivate a team of waxing specialists, fostering a positive, high-performing culture.
  • Handle client issues and feedback with professionalism, ensuring every guest receives an outstanding experience.
  • Monitor performance metrics, optimize staff productivity, and help drive service and retail sales to meet revenue goals.
  • Conduct regular check-ins, performance reviews, and provide coaching to support employee growth.
  • Support local marketing and community outreach to increase brand awareness and studio visibility.
  • Perform professional waxing services for clients in accordance with Waxing the City protocols and standards.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring comfort, consistency, and cleanliness in every service.
  • Promote retail products and educate clients on aftercare and product use.
  • Maintain treatment rooms and ensure all equipment meets sanitation and safety standards.
