About The Position
To provide a systematic visual inspection to cast parts.
Requirements
- High school education.
- Nine months OJT training.
Responsibilities
- Read and apply the Quality Engineering Specification (QES) to the visual inspection of a casting, using a scan pattern for the inspection.
- Indications are evaluated and a decision is made to accept or reject the casting based on the acceptance of the QES.
- Operate air powered tool to remove defects and/or rework castings.
- Grit blast parts in an enclosed grit blast cabinet, as necessary.
- “Toy Soldier” inspection of parts in order to help identify any differences in groups of parts per the QES.
- Lifting of individual parts (up to 6 pounds) and a tray of parts (up to 25 pounds) is required.
- Make sure parts meet quality standards.
- Must be willing to work daily overtime and weekend overtime as necessary.
- May train Inspector I’s as required.
