About The Position

Perform highly diversified duties to completely gate new or modified patterns. Use a variety of hand tools to repair supplied patterns; scrape and smooth surfaces, blend contours, remove bubbles, flash and other excess material, fill holes and cracks and perform other operations to prepare wax patterns for gating. Work from verbal and/or written instructions and, in some cases, concepts from engineering personnel to produce sample set-ups. Determine flask size as requested; properly rig pattern to fit specified flask. Submit completed unit for approval. Following approval set up and photograph unit as necessary to supply reference record and prepare written description of work for reference files. Deliver rigged pattern to Gating Supervisor for use as a production sample and, as requested, explain rigging and related procedures to Gating personnel. Detect faulty operations, defective material and report these and any unusual conditions to supervisor. Must comply with all applicable safety requirements, policies and procedures, while maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work environment. Must participate in required training, medical monitoring, safety, and health evaluations and programs. Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in all designated areas of facility. Perform all physical functions of position; standing, stooping, bending, sitting, walking, twisting, kneeling, turning and lifting of materials up to 35 lbs. Meet established attendance standards. Work overtime as needed. Must report any work-related injury or illness immediately to your direct supervisor. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • Some experience in a factory setting.
