This role defines group selection criteria, wave sequencing, and optimal volumes using capacity and performance models. The Lead conducts cross‑domain impact analysis across claims, enrollment, producers, providers, operations, contact centers, digital portals, and customer communications. Partnering with business and technology leaders, the role minimizes operational risk and protects customer experience during migrations. Responsibilities include delivery governance, readiness reviews, and executive reporting. The role leads data migration testing, dry runs, cutover planning, and stabilization. Strong expertise in group benefits operations, EDI transactions, and HIPAA/PHI compliance is required.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Group Health, Dental, or Vision operations or technology, with end‑to-end migration or activation leadership
  • Proven delivery of wave-based migrations for group insurance or payer platforms, including legacy‑to-target core administration or claims systems
  • Deep knowledge of group benefits EDI transactions, including:
  • 834 – Enrollment
  • 820 – Premium payment
  • 837D – Dental claims
  • 837P – Vision / professional claims
  • 270/271 – Eligibility and benefits
  • 276/277 – Claim status
  • Strong expertise in:
  • Claims adjudication
  • Eligibility and billing
  • Producer and commission hierarchies
  • Provider credentialing and contracting
  • Member digital and portal experiences
  • Demonstrated ability to build capacity and performance models and define safe wave volumes
  • Strong governance and leadership skills, including SteerCo facilitation and executive stakeholder alignment
  • HIPAA / PHI compliance literacy and secure data handling practices
