About The Position

The Security Safety Officer at Wauwatosa Aurora Zilber Hospice is responsible for providing security services with professionalism, fairness, and compassion. The officer will ensure safety and security through routine patrols, inspections, and responding to emergencies. The position requires maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor, complying with safety regulations, and performing various security-related tasks. The role includes working part-time with various shift options, primarily on weekends.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Typically requires 1 year of experience in security, public safety, or customer service.
  • Illinois team members must have completed State of Illinois 20-hour Basic Security Officer course.
  • Valid driver's license issued by the Division of Motor Vehicle.
  • Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) Card or Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) license.
  • Certified in Conducted Energy Weapon (Taser) use within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provides security services with professionalism, fairness, and compassion.
  • Conducts interior and exterior patrols to ensure safety and security.
  • Performs inspections to identify vulnerabilities, hazards, and fire conditions.
  • Assists team members, patients, and visitors by providing information and directions.
  • Monitors conduct of visitors and confronts unauthorized persons.
  • Responds to workplace violence and service calls involving combative individuals.
  • Plans and responds to emergencies such as lost or abducted infants/children.
  • Investigates incidents and completes timely reports.
  • Delivers security awareness education to team members.
  • Liaisons with law enforcement and first responder agencies.
