The Watershed Construction Maintenance Worker II performs semi-skilled construction and/or maintenance work in support of the wastewater collection system and/or the water distribution system for the Department of Watershed Management in the division of Linear Infrastructure Operations. The Watershed Construction Maintenance Worker II is a lead role operating heavy equipment such as dump trucks, backhoes, and skid loaders, as well as hand and power tools, to ensure the safety and optimal functioning of the operation. This role may also entail substituting for supervisors when necessary and assisting other crews as required. Functions as a lead worker for semi-skilled construction and/or maintenance work in support of a wide variety of drinking water or distribution systems activities. Operates hand and power tools, light to medium construction equipment, etc. Generally, works as a part of a work crew, but may work independently or act as a lead worker on a crew in standard linear pipeline infrastructure construction or maintenance. Work is performed frequently in cooperation with skilled trade employees, experienced equipment operators, technicians, or crew supervisors.
