About The Position

The cashier position will provide an excellent aquatic experience for customers at one of the three Manhattan waterparks by handling day-to-day transactions and answering customer questions.

Requirements

• Experience handling cash and performing basic math, including addition, subtraction, and multiplication
• Ability to work weekdays, weeknights, weekends, and holidays
• Experience working efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience with point-of-sales transactions, handling money, and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and possess a service philosophy that reflects the mission of the Parks and Recreation Department.
• Greet any customer who enters the facility, assist them by providing information and resolving complaints, and take payment by cash, check, credit card, or by membership pass.
• Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change to customers as necessary or directed by the Manager.
• Complete all opening and closing duties and maintain a clean and orderly checkout area throughout the day.
• Count the money in cash drawers at the beginning of every shift to ensure that starting amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
• Complete a daily reconciliation of the cash register at the end of every night, filling out the proper paperwork and preparing the deposit as required by the City of Manhattan.
• Able to establish and maintain cooperative professional working relationships with others, individually and in a team environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
