About The Position

Responsible for strengthening the lifeguard team through the delivery of superior service and safety. This person is expected to enhance the waterpark experience for both guests and associates through their personal drive, safety-oriented behaviors, and commitment to creating a positive working environment. The Waterpark Supervisor ensures the waterpark team operates smoothly and efficiently so guests can have a safe and enjoyable visit.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Strong skills with the ability to motivate and manage a large team
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with team-oriented approach
  • Standing and walking for long periods of time
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and communicate in English to adequately perform the duties of the job
  • Certified lifeguard and CPR/First Aid trained
  • Ability to work varying schedules that include evenings, weekends, holidays and extended hours as business dictates.
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of experience in aquatics operation: lifeguarding, lifeguard training, attraction operation, guest service.
  • StarGuard ELITE Lifeguard certification, or equivalent Lifeguard Certification
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification
  • Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel and Outlook and other required systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Waterpark management in training, supervision, and coordination of lifeguards in a highly efficient manner, to ensure the safety of park guests
  • Perform supervisory tasks, including resolving conflicts, coaching and developing others, promoting teamwork, and performance management
  • Responsible for the management of the lifeguards in their assigned areas, enforcing established rules, complying with regulations, and maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor of Assists Training Manager with maintaining training documentation and records
  • Conducts in-service training, SOP training, and shadow training as needed.
  • Completes, reviews, and checks required reports daily including accident and injury reports as well as daily inspections; ensures all work is done in compliance with rules, standards, and operational guidelines.
  • Ensures all training requirements and testing procedures are adhered to as set forth by Island Waterpark policies and procedures
  • Maintains and updates standard operating procedures and training materials
  • Responds to and manages aquatic rescues and events that interrupt the aquatic environment or compromise the safety of any person.
  • Ensures that all guests and associate areas always maintain a standard of excellence for cleanliness
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Waterpark Managers/Directors.
