About The Position

The Pool Attendant monitors the entire pool area to maintain safety at all times and cleanliness while in operation to, provide a safe and fun-filled experience for SMR guests. The Pool Attendant is trained in water safety and may rescue pool users (guests) who may be sick, hurt or in distress. Enforcing all pool regulations including SMR Policies and Procedures in accordance with property and applicable Lifeguard Manuals. Ability to take direction, attention to detail, clear communication and excellent customer service are essential for this position.

  • Excellent attention to detail (ATD).
  • Must be at least 15 years of age.
  • Work schedules will vary based on age and Department of Labor (DOL) regulations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Strength, stamina and long distance endurance is required.
  • Certification for ‘Shallow Water Lifeguarding’ is required within the first week of work (includes First Aid and CPR).
  • Certification for Pool Operator (CPO) is required or the ability to obtain within 30 days from work start date.
  • Ability to work within a diversified workforce.

Nice To Haves

  • Aquatic experience is preferred in addition to one or more of the following industries which includes: Hospitality, Resort or Theme Park is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety-critical monitoring (through active surveillance) throughout the entire pool area to maintain safety at all times in the pools and on the slides, to include, but not limited to water elements, play features steps, tables and seating, pool activity areas and waterpark areas.
  • Maintain and monitor activities to achieve the highest level of cleanliness, maintenance, safety and care in pool areas to include, but not limited to; swimming pool, slides, water elements, play features, steps, tables and seating, pool activity areas, waterpark/hotel areas and team member back of house areas.
  • Responsible to complete daily checklist for opening, closing and facility checks.
  • In the event of a potential emergency, assist or rescue pool users (guests) who may be sick, hurt or in distress.
  • Enforce SMR pool regulations and educate guests about them.
  • Compliance of SMR Policies and Procedures in accordance with property and applicable Lifeguard Manuals.
  • Informed and knowledgeable of resort/hotel property for ‘activity and event’ guest experience locations.
  • Perform closing procedures at waterpark after closing.
  • Participate in weekly in-service training and drills.
  • Complete TOSHA certification to handle biohazards in compliance with proper training.
  • Knowledge and ability to comply with all company operating policies and procedures.
  • Perform other incidental and related duties as required and/or assigned.
  • Provide support to my Supervisor and Manager.
  • Contributes to building a positive team spirit.
  • Interact with team members and guests in a positive and friendly manner, in all situations.
  • Respond to guest related items and issues promptly and professionally in a manner that is consistent with SMR core values.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and excellent judgment regarding privileged information.
